Black-Leather-Jacket

While I've been working Reactive-8 my blog for old skool techno, I've also been remembering my love for the classic Industrial / EBM, Dark Ambient, and Gothic Rock, that I was listening to simultaneously at home and at the clubs. Since I've run into bits and patches of these albums while running Freewave I thought I'd collect and share these in the same artist oriented fashion just like my other blog. I won't be pouring quite the same effort in B-L-J but will point to what's out there and recommend and request what's missing for those who might want to fill in the gaps. Hopefully this will be a joy for those replacing old albums they've long lost track of and for those this era partly passed by. It will be Industrial / EBM, Dark Ambient, and Gothic Rock up to about the year 2000 and not necessaily much afterwards...

Now a note: I am keeping my newest blog private. While Reactive-8 has been a wonderful success I am wanting to keep the newest blog's membership to a very active few. While I will likely be inviting my close friends of my blogs, I may also allow others who can definitely contribute. This includes those who can add in discussions or lists, find missing links, or upload missing singles, albums, mixes, or compilations. Take a look in comments for the four ways to get in.

If you already run an Industrial/Goth blog that fits our scope you are also welcome to get immediate access. Simply contact me and make sure you have your email address on your blog and we will send that address an invite!

PS. TheFreewave will continue, be public, and keep going strong.. and I'll cover all genres here!

Ok the site is ready to open to a few people. We have nearly 50 Industrial artists and most of their discographies linked to the blog and forum posts which contain the direct downloads While most blogs resemble a just-in bin with scattered artists and titles, B-L-J resembles a stocked and alphabetically and chronologically sorted rack of all the top Industrial artists and releases. I think those who love classic EBM and Industrial will really enjoy the site and will love to get caught up on filling the gaps in their collection and discovering great artists they have yet to hear. Many albums and singles actually have multiple links that go to different hosting sites in case one dies or if you don’t have a premium account. Links are for releases up to 2000 but not many after that as I’m limiting the focus to the “golden era” and not much of anything from this last decade.

Now here’s what it takes to get in:

First here is the blog's current wantlist http://www.discogs.com/wantlist?user=freewave

1) I’ve got a list of what albums and singles I am missing. Some are rare and some are not. Many I may have on cd at home but it will greatly save me time if others can upload and then provide the links for the blog as ripping and uploading would really divert time from the blog. Plus I’m sure if you’re an Industrial-head you likely have a few of these. So upload a few of what I’m missing on the blog and send me those links and you are in! Please nothing below 192 kbps quality or any partials (loose tracks) if you can help it.

2) If you can find links already on a blog or a forum those will work as well. It’s rather unusual in this day and age not to find a given release somewhere on the net and you may easily find what I’ve yet to thoroughly search for. Send me links to any forum or blog post (I don’t like to steal blog links so please make sure you post links to the blog posts and not to the direct downloads) and I’ll get you in as well.

3) Can’t find what I’m missing? Put an Industrial mixtape or two together and upload it for us. Whether its properly mixed or just individual tracks you love, we’d love it if you shared it with the group. Artwork a plus! Themes are a plus! If individual tracks then please have them labeled correctly. Keep it old skool and try to throw us a few pleasant surprises.

4) Find us some really good forums with downloads which pertain to the subject matter. We don’t need another any more additional links to the more popular artists like NIN or Ministry, unless they’ve got more rarities. Here’s a few links to forums we are already well aware of and have linked to.: Avaxsphere, Funky Souls, Gabba Planet, Magesy, MP3DB.ru, Taringa!

So there it is: Upload missing material, find links to missing material, make mixtapes, or blow us away with Old Skool Industrial forums (with files)! 4 ways to get in!

Send “applications” to freewavenewwave @ gmail.com (no spaces).
Again I think it will be worth it not only for those users who do get access but also for those who will enjoy the more productive group atmosphere.

Yep just send the links of where you found them to freewavenewwave@gmail.com and I'll send you your invite in. That simple. You helped me find 3 missing albums and I help you find links to hundreds more! :)

Thanks
